I'm half-way through this read, and I'm surprised by how much angst is saturating the plot. Hopefully this will work itself out by the end.
I just don't really like that this has boiled down into love triangle battle royale. Here's where my problem is with young adult books like this. If you are going to write your character into a leadership position then yes they should go for the relationship that is focusing on the big picture. Don't be confused by the gorgeous cover, there's much more waiting inside. While I'd love to have a huge print out of the covers for these books to put on my wall, the story shouldn't be forgotten.

A.G. Howard has a very twisted perception, and what I love most about this book is the creep factor. It is beautifully done, and if you capture some of the sentences alone they are magically written. This book continues the Splintered series. Alyssa has gone down the rabbit hole. She has learned more about her past and that she is a descendent of the Red Queen.

I enjoyed this book for the take on Alice in Wonderland and the darker side. Alyssa has to juggle Morpheus and Jeb. Trying to keep things from Jeb from memories he doesn't remember.

The love triangle is interesting and I found myself chuckling and cringing at the same time. ...more
