All the love, Mistborn you deserve all the love.

It may have taken a while for the story to truly take off for me, but it was great and I ended up reading through the night to finish it.
It was nothing like what I expected, mixing fantasy with an Italian Job/Ocean's Eleven mission and an impossible enemy whose mystery we only solve at the very end. I figured out a big part of it a lot earlier but the frustration and the hopelessness our heroes were feeling while trying to find ways to defeat him affected me as well and I was right there with th ...more

Mistborn: The Final Empire started off slow for the first third of the book, which is okay because of the world and magic system that had to be explained. The final third (and even the middle third) made up for it though. It was almost impossible to put the book down during the final third. Yes, I lost sleep over this book. I think I'm diving right into the second book. :)

This is one of those books that I'd like to give a 4.5 rating. The "magic" system (for lack of a better word)is incredibly interesting and well thought out. The characters are interesting and well developed and the story is very solid.
The book was never slow for me by any means, but the last third of the book was absolutely riveting. I'm looking forward to the next in the series. In fact, I'm going to publish this review and go start reading it.

I loved the magic system, but otherwise this was a slow read for me. I didn't connect to Kelsier or Vin, and found the young Venture and Sazed to be far more interesting. The last 100 pages picked up, and set us up for an interesting next book, but I'm not in any rush to read on.

I loved! LOVED! this book. The characters are amazing. The story is fantastic. I really enjoyed the 'magic' (if you can call it that) in the book. It is so fascinating and interesting.
