Soooooo. I loved the heroine's backstory in the circus. I adored her kickass knife skills and the bond she has with her sisters.

The hero is dumb. Even after his father tells him, he can't snuff out all she is, he keeps doing it. The erotica part of the plot really isn't needed. We get the falling in love parts in summary. The worldbuilding and cultural adjuments is undercooked.

It is a fun action adventure but not a great romance or Sciecne Fiction Romance. ...more

I actually enjoyed this more than the reviews I read led me to believe I would.

I liked the chemistry between River and Torak. I loved the relationship betwen River, Jo, and Star (that was actually the connection I loved the most).

I love a kickass heroine and these ladies used their unusual skills and their will to survive to kick some serious butt.

However, I didn't like the fact that no one thought to take into consideration that they each species had different customs until something happened ...more
