I am at quite a loss for words in regards to my feelings about this book, but I will try my best.

The beginning of the book was very abrupt. The reader is plopped into the conflict without knowing a thing about any of the characters. The writing felt very choppy as well. .... Wow! A-MAZ-ING! I think I could read this over and over and over again without getting bored.
This was nothing like what I was expecting and to be honest? I like it better this way. Freece is skilled. So very skilled! I love, love, love the characters and they've been developed so well! Everyone has their own distinct personality, which is something that many authors strive to achieve in their characters, so kudos to Freece for such a success. I think it's incredible especially how the author was able to create Laurent. Honestly, I would love to get in that head of his, just for a quick peek, because Freece paints him with such a manipulative and complex mind. Damen is also a great character and what I like most is that his experience makes him undergo a visible development in his personality and perspectives. So I loved the characters and their development. I also love that Freece used techniques to highlight certain qualities about a situation or person. There were hardly any issues with the writing, which is great. What amazed me the most though was the plot. It's very detailed and thought out. I was surprised at its depth and complexity. It kept me intrigued the entire time and every time I thought I had it figured out, Freece would throw out a new twist.
Awesome stuff Freece! I cannot praise you enough!

Overall: Loved it!
Downside: I got to the end of Book 2 and the 3rd one isn't online yet! This is going to torture me! Please come out soon Book 3!
Oh, and one of the greatest, most fantabulous, super, fantastic, awesome parts of this book, is there isn't a sex scene every three paragraphs! yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!! I can say with absolute one hundred gazillion, trillion, bazillion percent, that this is a book with real plot! Not sex with a tiny strand of plot in between. This book is the real deal people.
