This is one of those cases where my enjoyment level of the book doesn't match the objective quality of the book.

I can see why this book is so hyped. The characters are great and compelling, the writing is good, and there is plenty of action.

However, I really struggle with multiple POV. So even though I can say that I believe that the POV was done well, the bottom line is, I do not enjoy reading books with multiple POV.

I loved it. I am especially glad that the characters acted like teenagers that grow up in a difficult time, not like spolied, immature American teens transposed, just for the sake of impressing the younger readers. Well Done! My favorite character is Matthias, but they were all good.

Wow! Coming from Shadow an Bone trilogy and Netflix adaptation, I already knew some of the characters. But this book is so much more. It's an adventure, and a good one. 100% recommend the read, and I'll follow suit to Crooked Kingdom, because it's impossible to not keep following the crew. ...more
