This is not an ordinary story. In fact, it is quite different from any other book I've read. The story is told through interviews, documents, and assorted reports, so that may be a little different for some readers. If you have the patience to go through it all, then this is definitely a book for you.
Unfortunately, I found reading the various documents a bit tedious. Now before you all throw rotten tomatoes at me, let me preface this comment with the following. I read this book on my Kobo Aura ...more

HOLY FUCK, THIS BOOK! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?! I freaking loved ILLUMINAE to death! To be honest, this book was not on my radar at all, probably because I was taking a break from YA for the last few years. But I noticed this book all over #booktube and #bookstagram and seen how highly rated it was on Goodreads that I had to take a chance on it. Now the fact that it was a sci fi book made me want to pass it by because sci fi is one of my least favorite genres. I just find them so boring.

I admit to crying a river while listening to this audiobook. It was a great sci-fi and I greatly enjoyed it, which is particularly remarkable due to the fact that I didn't care for the style in which the story was told. "Love,Rosie" Style which consists of myriad of messages and records from the side and multiple POVs, which made the book mentioned completely unreadable for me. This book's strong sides however completely over-waited the style so unloved by me.

What an interesting and visual approach to telling a story! Sure, some of the sci-fi tropes were kind of common(view spoiler) but the manner in which the story was delivered totally worked.

I absolutely loved this book and the audio of this book. The full cast brought the story to life and following along with book just made it real. I cried and laughed throughout the book. I connected with the characters and felt what they felt. I loved Ezra and Kady, how they acted with each other and it didn’t seem rushed or forced. It gave me Star Wars vibes (and I know I will probably get some hate on this next part) I think it would be a better movie than Star Wars. I tell people to pick up a

Kady and Ezra
This is written as a report detailing the events of the attack on the Kerenza mining planet. How the survivors made it off planet and what happened while the small armada spent six months limping across the galaxy to the closest wormhole.
I read that this book needed to be read in the hardback edition, which I did. Thank-you to whomever posted that bit of advise. Not sure you could get the same impact reading a digital copy.
I loved this story and Kady was a wonderful heroine!
