I listened to an audio I had won. I found it hard to listen to at first because it kept skipping. I finally switched to my other computer and it played fine. I was using my laptop originally and that is newer than my desktop. Once I got going I didn't want to stop listening.
This was a mystery, romance and historical fiction. Ursula Kern has a secretarial agency in England and when one of her secretaries is found dead she is determined to find out what happened to her friend and employee.

Typical Amanda Quick, which for me is a good thing. A quick, fun read with an engaging mystery. I love her plucky, no-nonsense heroines and Ursala is no exception. Bonus points for Slater being a vegetarian hero, not something seen often and usually the vegetarian is the object of ridicule, or the "not manly enough" man. Sometimes the heroine can get away with it but I think this is the first vegetarian hero I've ever seen. It may seem silly to omnivores but positive portrayals of non-meat eater

Classic JAK!
It is nice to see women finally have a career choice outside of marriage and prostitution. Ursula has reinvented herself and started an exclusive secretary agency for women. When one her employees dies suspiciously, she decides to investigate and ends up confiding in Slater who turns out to be a great help.
