I'm not sure why it took me so long to start this series, but I understand now why it such a favorite of so many people. The confusing tangle of different demon species, the human "Guardians" that hunt them with insufficient understanding, and the demon-parts black market all make a great background for the series. I loved the romance of the unknowing half-demon and the demon doctor as well as the world-building. Now I cannot wait to read more in this series. ...more

Well now, this book was a blast to read, from beginning to end. There was a nice balance between the the romance and action...and both are present in considerable quantity (and quality). ^_^
I really dig how just about all of the characters in this book lived in that "gray area" between Good Guy and Bad Guy status. I enjoyed this book but had problems with the heroine for the first half of the book. She's fanatical about killing demons and bl

Blerrrgh. I feel like I've read this book a thousand time over. While the world-building is slightly interesting, the rest is extremely formulaic. I also wasn't very interested in our 'hero'. Occasionally a book like this can be made decent by hot sex scenes...but, no. I've read these before also.

If you've read some paranormal romance/erotica before, looked at this book's summary and wondered if it would end up being one of 'those' books- the less than memorable books of this genre- then you'd

Liked this a lot - it was funny, the romance was good, the story and world were interesting, and it was a quick read with lots going on. Will be reading book 2 soon.
