I'm not sure why it took me so long to start this series, but I understand now why it such a favorite of so many people. The confusing tangle of different demon species, the human "Guardians" that hunt them with insufficient understanding, and the demon-parts black market all make a great background for the series. I loved the romance of the unknowing half-demon and the demon doctor as well as the world-building. Now I cannot wait to read more in this series.

Well now, this book was a blast to read, from beginning to end. There was a nice balance between the the romance and action...and both are present in considerable quantity (and quality). ^_^
I really dig how just about all of the characters in this book lived in that "gray area" between Good Guy and Bad Guy status. The major theme running throughout the book was perception and appearances. For instance, Tayla is a (ruthless) demon-slayer who was raised by a seemingly negligent mother and assumes ...more

This one is hot and full of action. The hero, Eidolon, is an incubus demon and a doctor. He can heal with his touch and has set up a hospital where demons and other denizens of the underworld can go for treatment. One night a unconcious wounded woman is brought in. The attraction Eidolon feels for her is instantaneous. There is one small problem, she's a demon slayer.

Blerrrgh. I feel like I've read this book a thousand time over. While the world-building is slightly interesting, the rest is extremely formulaic. I also wasn't very interested in our 'hero'. Occasionally a book like this can be made decent by hot sex scenes...but, no. I've read these before also.

Liked this a lot - it was funny, the romance was good, the story and world were interesting, and it was a quick read with lots going on. Will be reading book 2 soon.
