I enjoyed the story but the characterizations were a little rushed at the end. Nova suddenly loves him and agrees to mate all in basically the final paragraph.
Novella or not, the ending really just didn't flow. One line about Eddy and no mention about her past and what Mathias was going to do about it. I like things to be addressed not just left hanging. ...more

I've enjoyed the glimpses of Mathias we've had over the course of the series, so I had high hopes for his books. I wasn't completely disappointed, but there was so much to this story, I really feel a novella did not do it justice. As a member of the order now, Mathias deserved for his story to be full. Also, Nova's story is obviously complex and there is a lot that is rushed or just lost because the story is so short. I hope piece of Nova's story that were left out come to light through another
