Wow, it's been a while since I read a Mercy Thompson book! I thought I was going to be totally lost but important developments of pertinent books were mentioned (in a very organic way) so that I could remember what was going on.

Definitely not as depressing as the latest Anna & Charles novel but nonetheless not nearly as good as the first books in this series. I still adore the characters but the stories lost their charm for me. Like in this one, they just mainly sat around and talked and ruminated and talked and ruminated some more on stuff that happened in the past novels and gave the already back then complicated plots an even more convoluted twist.
