I loved it. Loved, loved, loved it. Mercy's books remain on my favorites list, even 10 books in. I love this world, and all the characters in it. I love the tense dance of politics between all the major factions, and Coyote's chaotic little dance between them.

Also, I LOVE (view spoiler)

I have to say that I have only stayed with this series out of respect for Ms. Briggs writing skills, paranormal romance is so not my thing anymore. I don't need to read about sex or relationships, I want the magic and magic world to be #1 in a story. In addition, it seems like so many paranormal writers go down the same old vampire (or god forbid dhampir(ugh)) werewolf, demon witch route, that you wouldn't even notice if they took out the 'paranormal'.

With that said, I really enjoyed this story.

That little surprise at the end was quite fun. I enjoyed this. The genre has diminished quite a bit in my opinion but it’s good to return.
The downfall is the plot, it’s all great but when it unravels it’s just meh. Hence the 3*

I loved the shifting perspectives in this book - I was worried that there wouldn't be enough Adam, but that solved that concern. ...more

I received an ARC of this novel with thanks to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group, in exchange for a honest and voluntary review.

This book is in both Mercy's POV and Adams POV.
Ok first of all the timeline in this book is a bit screwy. The author/ mercys notes in the book state where it sits on the timeline. .... this is awesome and so helpful.
So you kind of have a Mercy timeline and an Adam Timeline. Its like reading two books at once. Which was very unique in comparison to the other books

Always fantastic

Per usual, this was a fantastic read. I'd actually put off reading it as I knew it would ruin me for other books.

The twist at the end left me pleasantly surprised. The attention to detail is classic Briggs and why I don't have to waste time wondering how the heroine ended up on the opposite side of the room when last I'd heard, she was making to sit down with a glass in her hand.

All in all, yet another fantastic work from an excellent author. Briggs actually makes me take a mom

While i really enjoyed the entire series so far this was not one of my favorites. Although you did learn more about Mercy. It was interesting to see the diiference between how European packs and vampires differ from American. But could just be me.

Loved it! The dual POV worked well, I love Adam again. And the twist at the end! I might have to reread some parts to see if there were any clues.
