I love this series, it has a little bit of everything and a unique mythology and characters that I love spending time with and getting to know better.
A lot happens in this instalment and I don't want to give anything away but I am glad to see The Others sharpening their claws and teeth in order to retaliate. It's not all sunshine and roses and there are still some plot threads dangling, however I am eagerly anticipating the next book, so much so that I ordered it before I finished this one. ...more

So good. Review to come on or closer to release day due to publisher's wishes. Let me just say it was as good as you'd expect it to be based off the first two books. In other words, it was awesome. :)

I'm well aware of what this series lacks. It asks the reader to suspend all of their disbelief, stuff it in a box, and forget about it. Humans = stupid poopyheads since they fail to get they live on sufferance. Others = a cross between doggos and bloodthirsty beasts. Meg and Simon = Ross and Rachel at glacial speed. Repetitive prose about color-changing hair = All. The. Time. Plot of this book = unrealistic since it doesn't align with what has been going on in the first two. I mean Meg has been ...more
