Urban fantasy is difficult for me to read right now and I guess, I can be difficult on urban fantasy books. But despite that, I was pleasantly surprised by this book. The last half of this book is amazing. Everything clicked. Interesting characters and new plot developments that were surprising. This story has all the things I love in a PNR/UF, but it was a little different. Usually the vampire hero is the angry, tortured soul and the human heroine is the one that calms the angry beast. In this story the heroine is one foul mouthed, messed up chick and the vampire is the one who helps her find peace. Nice book.
What I liked here is that the two main characters have history, unlike the usual book where we are just thrown into the character's life and it seems she just came from nowhere with no past.

What a lovely surprise. I could not put this down. She had a really unique voice which is hard to do in the well charted territory of urban fantasy.
