Reborn is told from the alternating prospective of Nick and Elizabeth.

Nick and the others are familiar with memory loss and gaps. It's one of the many side effects from their captivity by the Branch. Nick's recent flashes consist of a girl. The same girl. She's injured and crying. He becomes obsessed with finding out who she is and, specifically, if he's the cause her wounds. With a Reborn is told from the alternating prospective of Nick and Elizabeth.

She's injured and crying. He becomes obsessed with finding out who she is and, specifically, if he's the cause her wounds. With a little help from his friends, he's able to narrow down a location, but he still doesn't have a name. With only a location and vision of her face, he's off to find her and hopefully fill in the blanks that continue to haunt him.

... if I was ever going to figure out what happened to me, Nick was the path to it. Nick was my flame in the darkness.

Elizabeth lives in a sleepy town with her foster mother, Aggie. Elizabeth suffers from issues with her memory as well. She cannot let go of the memory of a boy. Gabriel. He saved her. Who was he?

The story of these two searching to resolve their personal mysteries was my favorite so far in the series. While the story focused more on Nick and less on the group (Anna, Cas, & Sam), I didn't mind. I liked learning more about Nick. Part of the "mysteries" weren't so mysterious for the reader, but there was a small surprise or two throughout. So many memories are tied to smell - I liked how Elizabeth chronicled her memories using fragrant oils she mixed, bottled and labeled with the scent of a specific memory of a person or event.

With the way things ended (not a cliffhanger, more of a possible game-changer) I'm anxious for book 4.
