"Now I have something to prove to you," he said. "I promise you, I will win, and by the time I'm done, you won't walk, you'll run to jump into my bed."

I have been waiting for this book for so long and it's finally here and it was so good. I will read anything that Ilona Andrews writes, because the story is always amazing with great plot, dialogue and characters you will love.

In this new world, it is all about the magic and our heroine Nevada Baylor is forced to take on a assignment that is

I was afraid of being disappointed when I started this book, but it turns out that was just silly. It is an amazing story even if I'm still not sure if I like the hero or not (Nevada doesn't seem sure either). I do like Nevada and her family a lot. They stick to their principles no matter what.

Nevada is forced into returning Adam (a fire prime) to his family alive and expected to fail. But she is smart, has her family's help and will do almost anything to keep them safe.

"Mad" Rogan is not a like

In 1863, in a world much like our own, European scientists discovered the Osiris serum, a concoction which brought out one's magic talents.

So begins this absolutely fascinating book. Magic users have been separated into families or Houses and designated as Minor, Average, Notable, Significant and Prime. Nevada Baylor runs a small family owned business that investigates fraud and cheating spouses. The business was bought out by the Montgomery House after the death of her father. Nevada is tasked

Have you ever read a book by super couple Ilona Andrews? If you have then here is my review for you: Blah, blah, blah, go read this, you’ll love it. Plain and simple.

If you’ve never read them, because you “like PNR not urban fantasy” then now is your chance. Burn For Me has all the world building fun of a UF with a good dose of PNR added. The Katie Daniels series is a great mix of UF/PNR but leans more to the UF side. Hidden Legacy is also a great mix of UF/PNR but leans more to the PNR side.

reread March 2015 - listened to audio and just as fun as the first time

Just a little background. I'm in love with this writing duo and their blog is bookmarked on my phone and possibly the first site I visit in the morning.
Burn for Me is good. Like really good. I'm not going to recap for you, go read the book! Just a few little notes:
1. The magical worlds that these authors create are so amazing to me (though the Facebook and Twitter references did weird me out a bit, maybe because there's no te

While no author (or in this case, team) is perfect, this is the third Ilona Andrews series (along with Kate Daniels and The Edge) for which I will be eagerly awaiting the next installment. Don't fret the bodice ripper cover, this is pure paranormal urban fantasy with enough paranormal romance on the side to keep it fun. Grandma repairs tanks in the garage while Mom and her sniper rifle hang in the crow's nest as part of a well rounded and entertaining ensemble of supporting characters. Primes ar ...more

It was amazing. I cannot wait for the next book.
Is far more romantic oriented than Kate Daniels and Innkeeper but I really like Nevada and her family. I love that there's really no love triangle, and that Adam Pierce is treated as the douchebag he is, where in any other romantic book it would be the hero.

Nevada is intelligent and resourceful, she doesn't take any crap and she is a coherent character. But it's not the female characters that are a problem for Ilona Andrews, if anything I could cr

Nevada and Mad/Connor

Adam Pierce is burning places in Huston. P. I. Nevada is forced to take on the task of capturing Adam alive and taking him back to his Family/House.

Mad Rogan starts out looking for Adam but find following Nevada maybe an easier way to find Adam.

Mad and Nevada reluctantly work together to try and figure out what Adam is doing and set out to catch him.

Love this story and couple. I’m immediately starting the next book in the series.

2 stars for the first half of the book - 4 stars for the second half of the book...

Recommended for seasoned fans of Ilona Andrews. You just have to roll with the first 140 pages folks. Or, maybe just know that Nevada teams up with a telekinetic Prime to bring in a pyro 'skip trace' and begin when they enter Jersey Village! Skip trace was used four times in one paragraph. It was a weird way to glaze over the real reason for House Pierce to want him apprehended before the police - for me. Why not
