Not a perfect book--I think it especially faltered when it explained the time travelling phenomenon--but one that I found deeply affecting. Some of the scenes are haunting, and the ending is extraordinary: pitch-perfect, full of beauty and pathos. Even though an astute reader will guess what is coming, it is too fitting and too well-crafted not to win you over. I haven't been so touched by a book in a long, long time.
