So I finally read this book. I put it off for a while because I had heard so many mixed reviews about the series, most often that the main character, Faythe, is annoying. While I can see why some would say that, I in no way found her to be as obnoxious as some others have. She is a flawed character who grows even just in this first book. Even though she is supposed to be twenty-three, I see her as a little bit younger because her behavior and lack of want for responsibility makes her seem that w ...more

This book was kind of slow for me. More than half the book was about smell, pride- cats, stray -cats and smell all over again, not to mention Fayth.....
I WANNA LEAVE NOW summed it up beautifully, I mean such a denial.....About her family, about Marc and most of all about herself.
I really don't know if I want to continue with the series!

This series will always been one of my all time favorites - It was my first "non-werewolf/Vampire" book that I read a few years ago :) And it was and STILL Is awesome as ever!

I was still hoping for more Jace time :) I love Marc and I know she belongs with him, but J

Faythe has a lot of growing up to do. She went to school for her independence. When she is forced to go back home, for her safety, she has tantrums and wonders why everyone treats her like a child. I like Marc but felt the declarations of love too soon.
I am tempted to read the next book but I am trying to stay away from love triangles. The book was long but I skimmed through a lot of Faythe's inner dialogues since a lot of it was the same.
