I was rather disappointed in this one, possibly because I had expected to much from it and the author. I guess we can't win them all. A young girl named Ellie goes missing and thus the mystery begins; however, we learn almost right away what happened and the mystery doesn't play out for me. It was told in a Then and Now format which was okay but it was a little confusing at first. Laurel tries to find her way of living again after Ellie's disappearance but I didn't feel any true emotion from her

DNF - I’m going to go ahead and take a look at the ending later, just to see if my assumptions were correct. I’m just not enjoying the story, though. Know that I am definitely of the minority here! I loved The Family Upstairs, which was my first read by Lisa Jewell, and I’ll definitely check out more of her work. This one just didn’t work out for me.
