First 5 star rating of the year for me. This book was fantastic. I adored every single paragraph. Every time I opened the book to read more on Eleanor, all the household chores for the day would be neglected. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it. Loved being in Eleanor's world for a bit. ...more

My initial judgement, after only having read 20 pages, was wrong. I ended up loving Eleanor and I’m so glad I read this. It’s a bittersweet but ultimately uplifting and beautiful story.

Eleanor is a flawed character, but I found myself really drawn to her as the story continued.

Parts of her life are really depressing, but I understand why she lives that way, and it is just a realistic depiction of how someone like her would really live.
Eleanor is brutally honest, to the point, and she is obsessed with planning every perfect moment of her life.

The story is beautifully done, and you get to take a journey with the main character as she goes through a wide range of new experiences

Lovely book. Light on the surface at first, but you learn soon that there is much more going on in Eleanor’s life. Absolutely perfect novel. My favorite book of the year so far.
