I really like Riley Sager. The characters are always well crafted and the plot always leaves me guessing. I love that I never know what the story might hold! And this one is so dark and fun!
This creaky, creepy old house on a cliffside holds secrets. A family was murdered one night and the only remaining one alive, Lenora, is always thought to be the one who did it. Even though she is 17, the police believe she was capable of the gruesome murder scene and, because they lacked evidence, they let ...more

5 TWISTY, CRUMBLING, STABBY STARS. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
"... a slanted mansion where three people were murdered. "
For those who were doubting Mr. Sager because of his last couple of books (personally I gave The House Across the Lake five stars), I do believe you will find that he is BACK.
I had so much fun reading this; it was twisty and creepy and by the end, completely bonkers.
Riley Sager does seem to have somewhat of a predictable formula, and this was true here, but I will admit some of the twists got ...more

4.5 stars. It's almost perfect. Loved the end.

I really, really enjoyed this!! Set in the 80's made it all that more fun - not only was it a bit nostalgic, but no cell phones made so many things that much more tense. I have enjoyed many of Sager's books and really not enjoyed others. I'm so glad to report that this was a win for sure! Lots of red herrings, false clues, and twisty surprises...right up until the very end! What fun to read!

Riley Sager is one of my favorite authors. I auto buy every book he puts out without even reading the description. Final Girls has always been my personal favorite, but The Only One Left may actually dethrone it for my favorite. I absolutely LOVED this book. It was creepy. It was fast paced. I had no idea what was going on at times. I was shocked. I had ALL.THE.EMOTIONS. This was a home run and may actually be my favorite book of the entire year. Read this book!

I’m giving this 5 stars for the genre that it is; this is no great work of literature, but this is an excellent “thriller.” Riley Sager is perhaps my favorite of the thriller writers I’ve encountered since I embarked upon this genre a year ago. I still can’t believe how well he writes his women characters. I want to be their friends.

The only thing that bothered me:
