It started a little slow for me. I had to warm up to Eleanor. But just like the people she meets in the novel, I started liking her because of and/ or despite her oddness and now I wish there was a sequel.

This is an odd story, to be sure. Eleanor is an odd character and not one I was sure I'd get to like. She's gruff and literal and holds nothing back - polite or not. However, her quirks end up becoming endearing qualities as the story unfolds. Wonderful quirky read.
At first, I thought this was just going to be a light-hearted, fun book with a quirky, odd main character but oh, it was so much more than that!!! Eleanor has earned a place among my favorite characters of all time. She made me laugh often, but her story made me cry as well. A wonderful read full of laughter, friendship, some heartache, and a heaping dose of hope!
Hmm, another super popular novel that was just fine (see what I did there) for me.
