I love this series. I love the simplicity of life they enjoy, and the simple but true values that the main character has. The author is very insightful, and although the books are written simply and don't contain a lot of excitement, there is much to learn from them and every time I read them I find myself agreeing with the conclusions he has had the characters make. Matekoni, decides to try his hand for the first time as an assistant detective, with wry and humorous results. There are a lot of potentially dramatic shifts in the ch ...more

In book 8 of the No.1 Ladies Detective Agency series 3 of the characters are acting out of character. Two want more out of life, bigger and better jobs, and the third just wants to add more to his work. Does it all work out? That is for you to read and find out. No spoilers here! The characters

This was good, pretty good even, just not as great as the others in the series that I've read. Still definitely worth picking up though! ...more
