How does Alexander McCall Smith keep coming up with these story lines for the No. 1 Detective Agency? I have no idea, but I'm hoping he has plenty more to share with us. We are brought back to Botswana once again to watch Mma Makutsi and Mma Ramotswe solve mysteries in their common sense way.

The book opens with a strange incident encountered by J.L.B. Matekoni. As he travels to help a woman in need, he ponders many things along the way, as he usually does. When he arrives at his destination thi

I enjoy the style of writing but my interest in this series is more in the detective work and less in the personal lives of Mma Ramotswe and Mma Makutsi. This book was heavy on their personal lives with the detective work as more of an aside. I didn't enjoy it as much as the previous books. ...more

Another great book that kept me company on my commute. The woman who reads this series really brings the characters to life. :)

I love the #1 ladies detective series. I was thrilled to find that he has added yet another book. The characters are all till the same. It is like coming home.

A double comfort read.....Mma Ramotswe has such clear morality and most people can be shamed for their bad behavior in her Botswana....always relaxing to read but so much better to listen to for the accents and cadence of speech.

Good, like the others in the series. I missed seeing the "Africa diamond" at the end (perhaps because the end of series??). The life lessons quote at the end of the book is a really good one to remember for all. ...more

Once again Patience solves several problems with hardly being involved, although her trip up country to thr safari camps is intriguing.

Always enjoy Smith's stories. They are told so very well.
