What Members Thought
I loved this book, definitely one of my favorites. The author does a lovely job of not pushing the supernatural element of this book too far, it's more of an imaginative experience than a magical one.

This is a strange book.
I started reading it because the blurb intrigued me. And the storyline and plot are so delightfully different that it made the whole experience enchanting.
It did take me a long time to read it because the book wasn't fast paced. It took its time with you and let you unravel the story as you went along with it. If you kept the book away for sometime, you still came back to wonder what happened at the Night Circus.

I really wanted to love this book, and there were aspects of it that i did love. But the overall story telling was lacking. The descriptions were lovely and really made you feel like you were there. Yet there were so many characters that the story would veer off into, that as soon as you would get interested in them it would veer back to another one, so its hard to become invested in any of the story lines. I also had issues with the main story which is supposed to be a heated competition but ne

4.5 Stars
When I was reading this, it was like rubbing salt to my wounds because I knew my life will never be as magical as Celia and Marco's. Le Cirque des Rêves, it was an intoxicating dream.
Sigh, if only such a Circus was real. I might try to submit a job application to them, hope they'll need a nurse. This was really an amazing read. Dreamily written. ...more
I didn't hear any of the hype about this book; I can't even remember where/how I added it to my to-read list. I'm glad, though, because I didn't have any expectations. I found Morgenstern's writing delightful, and she created an ethereal, dreamy landscape for her novel. I enjoyed it from start to finish, with a few notable holes in the story where I felt it I could have been stronger.

Maybe one day I'll go back to this book. I must say I loved the writing style. It was nothing short of magical. I just felt from the very beginning this book was leading up to something grand, something exciting; but I soon realized halfway through this book that it wasn't quite so. Maybe you had to read till the end to fully feel the magic but the pace and storyline was falling flat to me and gave me no desire to pick up the book and keep reading. So I moved on.
