I've heard so much praise for this series from so many people that I just had to read it. Does it deserve the hype, you ask? Yes, yes it absolutely does. The world building is amazing, beautiful and it's so detailed that if you close your eyes you can almost see it.

This is my first book by the author and I'm so impressed. The amount and variety of creatures that Julie has created in this book is just mind-blowing. There is never a dull moment in the book with nasty, scary characters continuously

Loved it! I can't believe this Julie Kagawa has slid by without my notice for this long. She's an incredibly talented author. Her world-building is captivating. She creates a fairy land that's not too Disney-glam, but it has all the trappings of a magical kingdom. She makes it seem so believable. Honestly, each night I'd read before going to bed, and then I'd dream I was there, in her fairy land, the Nevernever. It was sooo cool. Wow!

The characters were captivating too. I loved Puck. My heart ac

When I first started reading The Iron King, I wasn't very into it. There was something about the story's beginning that turned me off. And then, about 30 pages in, it was like someone had flipped the switch to 'on'. I couldn't put The Iron King down! Not even to eat!

The Iron King is filled with some truly complex and entrancing characters. Meghan, our female protagonist, is seriously kick ass. She traveled to an unknown, dangerous world to save someone she loved, even though she could have died

As part of this week's crazy fun leading up to the release of The Iron Knight on the 25th, I elected to take on the entire Iron Fey series for the very first time.

So far, I am glad I did.

I'll admit, I was a little wary picking up The Iron King. I'm not entirely sure why, with all the rave reviews and crazy (in a good way) fans, bu

Well, for the first 2/3 of the book, the protagonist annoyed my greatly. She whined a lot and made many dumb choices. If it wasn't for Puck and Grimalkin, I think I would have stopped reading. Ash was a so-so character for me. He's the cold, aloof, handsome guy. Since I prefer the nice, next door type, I wasn't so into him.

After hearing about the rest of the series, I would recommend this for the 16+. If I get around to reading the rest of the series, I may come back and change that recommendati
