The plot was great. Action-packed and adorable, Blood Red Road made this dystopian novel a book on my Never-To-Be-Forgotten List. How would you imagine yourself living in a world with no water and living in the middle of NOWHERE? Saba survives it; together ...more

I really didn't think I would like this book but when Saba got caught in Hopetown and forced to cage fight the book got SUPER exciting and I just couldn't put it down! The first 100 pages or so I thought I couldn't get past the strange dialogue and I found Saba's little sister just as annoying as she found her but things really picked up in Hopetown and from them on I kept thinking 'this book would make an excellent movie' because it had so much action, adventure and fun!

It was all set in the stars the moment the world began. The time of yer birthin, the time of yer death. Even what kinda person yer gonna be, good or bad.
This has got to be the next best thing that I've read this year since The Hunger Games and honestly, nothing can top the HG Trilogy. But Blood Red Road stands on it own with its own special thing. I definitely find myself drawn to every page, sentences, words inside the story. And it's never a lie when people appreciates Saba on her bravery ...more

I love Young's pacing, characters, and tension, but I can't stand the vernacular writing style. I don't like the poor grammar, spelling, and lack of quotation marks. I know it's intentional, and I know it's supposed to tell us something about these characters. I don't care. It detracts from the book. Simple lives could have been shown using correct grammar.
Yes. My English teacher bias is shrieking. Loudly.

Wow, that sure was something different!
When I first started reading Blood Red Road, I was pulling my hair out with frustration over the writing style. The fact that quotation marks are not used throughout this entire book really irked me initially. As I started to get more into the book though, I found that I actually enjoyed the quirky writing style, and that it really worked to the books advantage.

I wasn't expecting to love this book but I do!! I want to see it as a movie. I love the characters, I felt like knew them by the end and I was very excited that it was listed as #1 so I know there will be more. As soon as Saba's twin brother Lugh was kidnapped by a band of horsemen, and she heads
off to get him back I was hooked and the story didn't stop.

This was enjoyable, Moira Young does a stellar job. I look forward to the next installment in the story.
