It's so realistic it is scarey!! There are several situations in this dystopian novel many of us can relate to the same stage being slowly set in our own countries. It could easily happen by the next century.

Cassia is intelligent and has been conditioned by the "Society" to view the Political/Social way of life as ideal...until after a key "rites to passage" ceremony, she begins to wrestle with what she felt to be a perfect existence suddenly does not seem that perfect anymore.

I liked this book, but I didn't like like it. The Society is similar to a lot of other "utopian" governments, using the control of resources to control the people - replacing choice and freedom with safety and routine. There are some original elements, the most notable the "Matching" process which gives the book its name. Unfortunately, that also gives undo focus on the romantic choices rather than other socio-economic elements like career, education, free-time activities, etc. I suppose, when y ...more

This was a decent book. Reminds me of the Divergent series, although I don't like this one as much. I'm not really a fan of the love story, not really buying it, they needed to develop that relationship more. But maybe I'll get more into it as the story continues. ...more
