What Members Thought

This is unabashed adventure fantasy care of Brandon Sanderson at the top of his game.
The setting is rich, new, and fascinating. The characters are many, varied, and conflicted enough to grow and change. The writing has a snappy tension that, even if it drags on in places (or chapters), pays off in spades when everything comes together.
It's not likely to change anyone's mind when it comes to tastes in books, but if someone is open to what it has to offer, there's plenty to be had.

Remind me not to start my new year (read: reading goals) off with anymore 1k page monsters. I'd rather read this again though, than read 4x 250 page books....it was epic. ...more
