This is the longest book I’ve ever read. It also might be the best book I’ve ever read (debatable). Edmond Dantès is one of my favourite protagonists of all time and is incredibly well written. He is the ostentatious Batman. The pacing is amazing (it flew by quicker than some 200 page books I’ve read), the plot is ingenious for its time, and the gradual payoff of sweet, sweet revenge over 1,300 pages is excruciatingly satisfying. Count, I will miss you :(
