What Members Thought

Wow, just wow. I am so happy that I've finally read this book. This would be 4.5 stars from me.
Vic McQueen has a knack for finding missing things - but it takes a toll on her health each time. She doesn't understand it as a kid, and after a horrid encounter with Charles Manx and the subsequent phone calls from the kids of Christmasland she is convinced she's lost her mind.

The thing I appreciate most about Joe Hill is his ability to take a seemingly simple (even short story-esque) premise and transform it into an epic. The other impressive thing about this book is how few characters are actually introduced despite the books length. Hill has a true gift for description and is a flat out ...more

I loved Heart Shaped box so I was very excited to read this book! It was captivating at the start and I was very into the whole story about Vic and her bike!
The first half of the story was enough to keep me wanting to go along and the only minor annoyance that I had was the chapter titles being the last line of the previous chapter and that is really nitpicking on my part. The horror and mystery was there and kept me from wanting to put the book down.
