This book was plusgood, although I may need to think about it for some time. My brain may have exploded a little.
I quite enjoyed reading this book. It is well written and easy to read without being overly simplistic. At times in read as though you were spying on Winston’s life. The characters were well thought out and developed well during the story and seemed believable and real throughout. The issues of power and language are also well conceived and clearly portrayed throughout the story. Ths use of language as a means of thought control was very clever. This is one of those books that I wanted to read simply because of how much people talk about it (even today). I finished it this weekend and all I can really say about it, is it's INTENSE. It's a book that needs to be read, but not one that I'd ever want to re-read. A scary look into government control, so well written that at times I would close the book and look around, feeling like I was being watched.
