I read the prequel to this series and loved it so much that with that and the fact that I have seen so many great reviews on it, I just knew I had to start this one.

Sadly, it was super hard for me to get into. Way more hard than I was expecting it to be, which was odd because like I mentioned, I loved the prequel but the beginning of this was way different than the prequel. I wasn't sure I liked Aria or the world she came from. I wanted more about the Outsiders, more Roar and Liv. And okay, it m I read the prequel to this series and loved it so much that with that and the fact that I have seen so many great reviews on it, I just knew I had to start this one.

And okay, it might have been my own fault too, I knew this wasn't Roar and Liv's story but I couldn't help but feel cheated that I wasn't getting it either.

Fantasy has never been my thing, with few exceptions of course, and when I first started this, it felt too fantasy to me. There was so much to learn and so much was already being dumped on me that I was starting to feel a little overwhelmed by it all. In fact with the technology in the Pod it almost felt futurist, way different from the almost primitive world of the Outsiders that I had grown use to from the in the prequel. I was relieved when it was Perry's turn to narrate and we were once again thrown back into the real world, the one ravaged from the aether in the sky, his world.

If I am being honest, I almost gave up on it and didn't even continue, but I didn't, I hung in there because I just knew there had to be something great about it, there were too many reviews and recommendations that said so.

I didn't love this book.

At first.

And then, then I did.

I am so glad I didn't give up on this one. I did have to set it aside for a day and come back but once I did, I really warmed up to the story line, the characters and everything that was going on.

And I really like Aria, I wasn't sure if I would but I did and of course, I already knew I liked Perry and Roar.

Now, I am excited to start the second book and get sucked right back into the story. This really is something extraordinary that just sort of sneaks up on you and before you know it, you love it and want more.

I really really liked this book.

I am a big fan of dystopia. So I was really looking forward to this book (plus the cover and title are awesome)!

The book is told from two points of view. The first narrator is Aria a 17-year-old Dweller who has grown up in Reverie (which is in a pod/an enclosed city). She is used to spending her time in virtual Realms with her Smarteye (a patch you wear on one eye that can take you to the different Realms).

I wasn’t ready to start this book until about 23:30 on a Saturday night. It was one of those times when I thought to myself that I’d just read a chapter before bed. One chapter turned into fifteen and even then I was reluctant to put the book down for the night! I was even toying with the temptation of not sleeping so I could get more reading done. It’s been a long time since I was so drawn into a book that late at night.

I have a separate list for books that I am weary of reading, usually because of the great reviews and hype about them. Anyone else would say: "Hey, if they're popular and have great reviews, why wouldn't you want to check the book out?" But in past experiences I've gone into books solely based on the recommendations and five-star ratings on book sites, and more often than not, I was left sorely disappointed.

While the beginning of this book was a tad slow it quickly picked up pace... and surprisingly I adored it! Lately I have been getting quite fed up with all of the authors who drag out books thus creating never ending series but I think this book was very well written and definitely deserves a continuation. I really, really, really enjoyed this book and am now anxiously waiting for the next book in the series.

I was so enamored by this creative place of pods, moles and savages that I can't wait to get my hands on the next book. Perry and Aria are two very intriguing characters that I would love to follow till the end. Such a mix of creativity and vibrant writing.
