A lovely retelling of the Twelve Dancing Princesses fairytale, Jessica Day George has a light touch, a sweet romance, and a clever use of knitting – I’d recommend this to anyone who loves YA fantasy and fairytale retellings.

Cute, but I've been reading a lot of renditions of "The Twelve Dancing Princesses" this year and while I appreciate it's not as "twee" as many of them, it's not as mature as some of the others.

While there were definite moments in this book, and I loved that the gardener was the hero, I felt there were too many characters which hindered the plot development.
