I read this to challenge myself, and challenge me it did. Within a few pages there was rape, humiliation and degradation and it only got worse from then on. Every now and then I would have to pause to take a breath in order to continue.
I was made uncomfortable, appalled and utterly disgusted. I desperately wanted to put this down but curiosity won out. How was it going to end?

Having never before read this classic BDSM novel I was not sure what exactly to expect. The BDSM is less hard core (no burning, maiming, cutting) which appeals to me as it is the type of play I can relate to. THis is a good book for those who have at least foot (real or imagined) in the BDSM door; more than enough to fire the mind. I like that the story commences where the fairy tale ends and I think Roquelaure/Rice did a good job of working the atmospheric feel of a fairy tale into the erotics
