For readers who love fairy tales and classic stories, Neil Gaiman has created a perfect spell-binding story. I read this while also listening to it, so I had the benefit of hearing Gaiman read it as well. Taking place in the English town of Wall, some 200 years ago, characters from a fantasy fairy land and ordinary villagers of Wall commingle every nine years for a fair in which magical items can be purchased. Romance, adventure, and fantastical dreams ensue--the perfect escape for our times!
