I really wanted to like this. The world McKinley created was great and enriched with such fascinating and intricate details (the first chapter was just so lovely to read). But Rosie was such a boring character that I honestly didn't care about anything that happened to her. The whole novel just should've been about Kat. And while the animal characters were an interesting addition, they had terribly confusing names and I could never keep any of them straight. I finished quite a few paragraphs of ...more
