To be honest I've not before read any of the original Norse myths. I knew what exposure to pop culture and stories that used them as a template or launching pad had taught me and little else, so it was great to come across this and finally learn what the brass tacks are.
The writing style is largely like a standard book of myths would read, but every now and again you get a lovely Gaiman bit of flair and you just know he couldn't resist adding that detail or joke.

I listened to this book on Audible, read by Neil himself. It was so much fun. I've loved the Norse Myths since I was a kid, and this version is easy to follow, gives you the most popular myths, and is quite humorous. Having it read by the author is the icing on the cake. If you've wanted to brush up on your Norse Myths, or have never sat down to enjoy them, try this version. It's fairly safe as any mythology can be for teens and up. Enjoy!
