I got the Audiobook CDs as a Christmas present from my partner, who knows I love Norse lore and Neil Gaiman, between the two I shouldn't choose. Neil has the voice of a storyteller and certainly he'd have been a skald of Bragi if he had lived in those times. Luckily, he does not; although I'm glad that Neil's words play into one of my favorite lore in other works, like "American Gods" (I've not read it yet, although I don't know why not!).

Esse livro é mais uma colaboração entre Neil Gaiman e o ilustrador Chris Riddell (eles fizeram juntos o primoroso The sleeper and the spindle), mas dessa vez a temática é mitologia nórdica. I listened to the audiobook verion narrated by the author.

Overall, I enjoyed this. Is a nice book for children. It didn't strike me as original as many other Gaiman books. That's why I'm only giving it 3 stars. It's good, but not the originality I expected. ...more
