Bilbo is just like any other hobbit; he likes his quiet life in his hobbit hole. That is until Gandalf arrives and tricks Bilbo into hosting a party. The next day 13 dwarves and Gandalf show up to his door! Bilbo gets busy making food and getting drinks for his guests. This is likely the worst book in the universe!
A couple years ago I had to read this book for school, I really didn't want to...so I kind of just skimmed through everything, not the best idea when it's for a class, but still I was being rebellious.
Once, my teacher read some of it aloud if we wanted her to, so she did because that was the only way I was ever going to read it. That part wasn't too bad, so I read some of it later and it just got worse.

This the first book of Tolkien's that I ever read. I think I was about 19 or 20. I was mesmerized by the dialects and the scenery. The names of creatures, people and places were wonderful. I had never read a book so full of imagination. Brimming over with an intelligence and wit unmatched by any other author, previously read by myself. I am so thankful this book was recommended to me, all those years ago. I have since read it at least 6 times in my life, and hope to read it at least once more. T
