Drew Karpyshyn's "Revan" is not the best Star Wars book I have read. It is, in fact, my least favorite so far, although part of the problem may lie with the fact that it is based on or inspired by a video game series with which I am unfamiliar. Apparently, "Knights of the Old Republic" is an old-school video game that was immensely popular among the gaming set. (Indeed, gamers I know say that this game was the pinnacle of gaming excellence. I can't verify that, as I've never played it.)

Liked this novel more than the previous ones I have read. The story seemed to move along more quickly, there were fewer characters to follow which allowed for more engagement with them.
As with the previous novels I have read I enjoyed the small glimpses you get into both the Jedi order and the Sith.
The appearance of the "Emperor" was also a highlight. Is it the EMPEROR or just an emperor from a long line.
The novel also concludes with an air of mystery regarding Revan & Lord Scourge. What happens ...more

This novel was a good little read by one of my favorite Star Wars authors (if you haven't read the Darth Bane trilogy, go read it!). I wouldn't describe it as spectacular, but it also wasn't terrible. I suppose the only word to describe the novel awaited by all fans of KOTOR is underwhelming. Part of my disappointment with it is probably due to the fact that I played KOTOR, KOTOR II, and TOR.
