This book is part of the new canon for this universe. I believe the title of this novel should have been Thrawn & Pryce as this book is about two characters that are part of the show Star Wars Rebels. This book tells the story of both of their job employment within the Empire.

Některé knihy mají svižný rozjezd a pomalý dojezd, jiné naopak pozvolný start a strhující finále. Thrawn patří jednoznačně do té druhé skupiny. První dvě třetiny románu tvoří spíše epizodické příhody z počátků Thrawnovy kariéry v Impériu (volně propojené s líčením vzestupu budoucí lothalské guvernérky Arihndy Pryce), všechno se postupně proplétá a ve vysoce uspokojujícím finále dostává pořádné grády. I really like the Thrawn character, and if you’ve read any of my SW reviews you know I hold Timothy Zahn in the highest regard for inspiring the entire Expanded Universe (now called Legacy), so I really wanted to love this one.
It’s good. It’s very well written. Thrawn is still a very compelling character. The book establishes his tactical brilliance very well. I suppose part of the problem is that he is so smart that he wins every battle before it starts.
