My two favorite genres to read are Historical Romance and Romantic Suspense, and I have found an author who does an amazing job at writing both- Pamela Clare! After having read her Historical series, MacKinnon's Rangers, and loving it, I couldn't wait to get my hands on her Romantic Suspense I-TEAM series, starting with this book, Extreme Exposure. Once again she was spot-on with this reader, a big 4 1/2 stars!!

I knew I was going to like this before I picked it up. I don't even read suspense contemporary romances on a normal basis, but a politician hero. That was a new one and I had to get my hands on it.

The heroine is Kara, a respectable journalist who is actually quite decent, since she is protecting the public by uncovering stories that need to be told (not gossip about celebrities). She's a single mom, yet she manages to balance her two roles, with the sad cost of her love life. That is, until her I knew I was going to like this before I picked it up. I don't even read suspense contemporary romances on a normal basis, but a politician hero. That was a new one and I had to get my hands on it.

The heroine is Kara, a respectable journalist who is actually quite decent, since she is protecting the public by uncovering stories that need to be told (not gossip about celebrities). She's a single mom, yet she manages to balance her two roles, with the sad cost of her love life. That is, until her friend gets her into a club to let loose. She meets the sexiest man there, Reece Sheriden, or actually Senator Reece Sheriden. Now this man is a verified hottie. Yes, he is a politician, but he's really just a high school government teacher (I don't know why, I find teacher heroes, pretty sexy, as long as they aren't my own) who is trying to save the world. The sexual tension between the two is blazing, but Kara's professional interests may get in the way of having a real relationship. Thankfully, Reece is such a sweet guy and becomes Kara's knight in shining armor.

I loved both of the characters. Kara is surprisingly likable for a journalist. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, because she is trying to save the world, but reporters in romance tend to be very annoying. Reece is such a gentleman *swoon*, and is even better in bed. He was consistently smoking hot and he makes me wish that our own real live politicians can be that amazing.

The suspense was actually quite good. It was environmentally related, so it had the touches of Erin Brockovich, but it was even better because of Reece. Kara gets hurt a lot and that was not cool, but you can't save the world without getting hurt some, right?

There's a lot of promise for the upcoming books and I would love to find out what happens to Kara's editor, Tom's romance with her mother. I thought that was hilarious.

Overall, a wonderful read. The romance was amazing and the bedroom scenes were quite steamy. The end was kinda...too perfect. Everything ended nicely for the good guys and kinda sucky for the bad ones. But I guess it does have the nice effect of being unbearably 'happy' for everyone's HEA.

I'll keep it short and sweet. This book was well written, fast paced, and hot. Both the hero and heroine are extremely likeable characters. I liked them together. I also loved reading about her nursing and homebirth. Not a lot of authors write enough about it! I was surprised and happy.

I truly enjoyed this. All round really good read. Strong characters and development, intriguing story line, perfect pace, and wonderful attention to detail. Don't know how I missed Pamela Clare, but very glad I found her. The story moves with direction and creditable purpose. The characters are warm and colorful and very real. There is romance, mystery and action and touches on real controversial issues. I personally loved Reese. His reactions to Kara, Conner, his friends, his job, and the peopl ...more

I really didn't think I was gonna like this book because I can't stand politicians, but I ended up loving it. Once I started it I couldn't put it down. Prince Charming or should I say Reece was a bit "too good to be true." I like my hero's a little more darker and meaner. ...more
