I have always liked Spade when I read the Cat and Bones books, so I was excited to read this one. I loved to learn more about Spade and his background. Denise has always been fun too, and the ending to the last book was just heartbreaking for her.

This is the first spin-off in Cat & Bones' world, and I was very pleased with it! You know how often they disappoint - but in this case Ms. Frost has so many wonderful secondary characters that she can keep spinning for years.

This is one of those odd occurrences where I’m tempted to give a higher star count out of loyalty towards the author.

I really wanted to like this book because I enjoyed the Night Huntress books so much. About ¾ of the way through the book, I started checking to see how many pages were left because I was ready for the book to end. The only reason I finished it was loyalty to the 1st four books.
