DON'T DO IT!
Was looking for a new book to read, Amazon had it on my homepage as a possibility, due to my prior purchases. Went on Goodreads, checked out the reviews, most were very positive.
Really???
This book was horrible. Way to wordy, like the author was trying to fill up the pages with the same crap over & over again. At 46% I just started to read the stilted dialogue. By 55% I skipped it all and went to the last chapter & read the dialogue only. I just wanted to be done with it.

I can't believe I was able to even I finish this. While the world building had potential, the characters were not relatable nor realistic. Why should we believe our h feel in love with our H when he did not said anything to express and interest in her. The sex was more like consensual rape. It didn't even sound pleasant. They barely trust each other until the very end. Anne Stuart has sexy heros who contemplate killing the h but this author did not pull this off.

Great start to a new series! Kane is a Master Vampire out for vengeance and Caitlin is a agent for the VCU out to arrest Kane for his many offenses and heinous crimes. When she is about to arrest him there are sparks between them that will change everything. Kane is really hot and arrogant!!! And will Caitlin be able to stay the course in her quest for her own agenda? I really liked this book and highly recommend it!!!
