[REREAD: Increased rating to 4.5 stars; difference was that I reread some of the great Marks-Leo exchanges from the previous Hathaway books beforehand so that I could fully enjoy their story again ... which had been one of my complaints before.

REREAD x2: Reread the entire series in order and it's true, the prior two books make this one so much more enjoyable, because there's such great Marks/Leo buildup in those books.]

Second half of the book far better than the first ... and how can I get my ow

Loved it! Leo and Cat's interactions and relationship made this one a winner. The actual backstory (Cat's mystery past...etc.) was minor entertainment compared to all the fun I had when these two were in the same room. I can see why some people rated this less than five stars as the mystery wasn't much of a mystery, and there are parts that were predictable and maybe even rushed, but I can't knock a star off of my rating simply because I loved the entire experience reading this story. Leo Hathaway and Catherine Marks are the two most funniest people around. While reading this book I couldn't help but laught and cry. This story had some sad details and you couldn't help but fall more in love with Marks and you could help but fall in love with Leo.

Upon reading the Hathaway series, I felt bad for Leo to lose someone you love to a fever is tragic, but when he continued to mourn and treat his family bad the way he did makes you want to shoot him in the head.

4.5 loved it. A completely different Leo compared to the first book.

Entertaining though I felt this book had a little less substance than the previous ones. Maybe its because both characters have already been introduced in previous books and thus much of their story was already told.
But I really started reading these books for the next one. So one ward I go. =D

A fun one, Leo is a great character, and I love that in this one, both hero and heroine are broken, not just the guy like the other Hathaway stories

I was really pleased that the set up "need to marry" was in the background and did not drive the relationship for Leo. ...more

I just never could get into Leo like I did with the others. It was still a good book in the Hathaway series though.
Not Now...Mommy's Reading
I don't believe one can go wrong by reading anything by Lisa Kleypas, especially when it comes to her Hathaway series.

I loved the chemistry between Leo and Marks. And Leo was one of the most "accomplished lovers" I've ever had the pleasure of reading about. HOT!!!

Read the beginning of the next, and I believe final, Hathaway installment featuring Beatrix and it looks very promising as well.
