I don’t think there is another author out there can write quite like KC when it comes to turning a bad man to good….well as good as Lothaire is going to get anyway. To be frank, in the other books I didn’t care for Lothaire at all, but I think that was the big set up for this book. Boy did she turn it around for me and I loved it. So this was about 16 hours of audio, which was awesome. The story felt epic and BIG, which is what I expected from KC's hardcover debut, and I was not disappointed. Lothaire was not my favorite character of the Lore (not even on the list) but I found that I am always won over in the end. Kresley Cole has a way of writing her heroes and heroines to where I always root for them, even when I'm initially skeptical.

Annoyed with this book. Would give it 1.5 stars. I didn't hate it, just didn't like it. It droned on for wayyy too long. It could have been shorter. I felt like it was all over the place. I hated the name Leo. Why? He stood up for a lot of things, had a lot of opinions and the one thing he should have put his foot down on was this. Leo? Booo.

I was hoping Lothaire would gain a suitable match. I certainly think he deserved better than what he got. Oh Ellie.

This book was everything I expected and more.

I didn't even know Cole was writing another novel, not to mention the fact that this one is about a character whose played the antagonist in some of her other works.

I absolutely love Kresley Cole. I have read every book she's written. And, I am a huge IAD fan. But I put off reading this for quite a while. I read the synopsis and the whole Appalachian hick-chick threw me off. I recently decided to jump back in to PN and missed IAD so here I am. First, let me say I like the book. I really, REALLY loved his book! And I admit - I wasn't thinking that Lothaire's tale would be one of my favorite of the IAD series - but it is! I adored Ellie the hillbilly and watching the relationship develop between her and Lothaire was a thing of beauty. And the developments with Lothaire and Nix were unexpected but great.
