Lord of Scoundrels (Scoundrels #3) by Loretta Chase

Beautifully crafted with an intensity that pulls at your heart strings; I was completely immersed in the story from the first word.

Dain, as dark a hero as they come, elicited my compassion. Jess, a woman who’s mental gymnastics knows no bounds; embodies character traits to which I aspire.

Rich, multi-dimensional characters, with fully-developed personal histories, warmly embrace you as their story unfolds.

Completely worthy of a five-star rating.

OK, I admit I'm very torn in rating this book. I'm not sure that I LOVE it the way so many others do. But I did like it, and I love some things about it. Jess is a 5* heroine, she's just great. She's smart and strong and her dialogue with Dain (and with others) is witty, meaningful and beautifully written as Loretta Chase's dialogue so often is. It may be because I liked Jessica so much that I could not warm up to Dain. I started with a great deal of empathy for him as a child and young man. But ...more

This book caught me by surprise! I was looking for something light and easy to read and for some reason I picked this one up...and ended up falling in love! It didn't take long to fall in love with the characters and the writing style of this book. This was truely a tortured hero book, and it was done perfectly, and by the end you were rooting for this couple and their family. I highly recommend this book, and will def. be reading more by this author♥ ...more
