Like most of you I have been waiting for this book, I needed to know how it all would end. With that being said I was happy with the way this book turned out.

A lot of our questions were answered, some not until the end, and the reading of this book caused more questions as the pages turned, but we know all now.

If you pay close attention to the previous books you can figure out so much of this one, or at least have some really good guesses. It seems like every character that we have met in the ...more

Wow...Wow!!! This was one complex, multi-layered story...at times it had my head spinning and my stomach tied in knots. And of course there was Barron's humor which made me laugh when I really needed to laugh. This was a terrific story with so many twist and turns that I got dizzy at times and a little fustrated...I felt just like Mac. WOW. This book seldom went down ANY road that I thought it would-other than the tone of the ending. Ms. Moning, I bow to you.

I just finished this book, so you'll need to excuse any I coherence. I would imagine that there's gonna be a lot of babbling in the initial reviews in this one;it was tat good. I couldnt even stop myself from reading to highlight significant passages, but that's okay. I'll be rereading this series many, many times.

The Fever series is on my favorite series, and I'm sorry to see it end. I'm looking forward to the spin-off series, which is set in the same world that KMM has created. Overall, I was happy with the way this series ended. There were some very unexpected twists and turns, and some things that I thought were predictable. Wow, what a ride this was! Yes, there were sections where things could have moved along a bit faster but isn't that the case with any long book? I was very impressed by the author's ability to wrap up pretty much all the questions I had by the end, altho maybe that is just in comparison to other installments where KMM would leave us HANGING at the end!

There is no real way to give a review of this book discussing what happens. There is just too much a reader must know - these are not stand-alone Wow, what a ride this was! Yes, there were sections where things could have moved along a bit faster but isn't that the case with any long book? I was very impressed by the author's ability to wrap up pretty much all the questions I had by the end, altho maybe that is just in comparison to other installments where KMM would leave us HANGING at the end!

There is no real way to give a review of this book discussing what happens. There is just too much a reader must know - these are not stand-alone entries - and too much happens on this roller-coaster ride. I mean, how do you describe a roller coaster ride? Is it the initial big chug up, the first huge roll down or the many twists and turns before you finally are set back down safely? Gosh, now I'm starting to write like Ms. Moning. Her storytelling in the last several Fever books was not as impactful as her first-person narrative. Man, she must be some kinda incredible to think up what she writes down for Mac's thoughts! Especially during the first section of the book, which picks up seconds after the last book finished (those of you current on the series know what I mean) and the emotional vomiting Mac spews is incredible. The psychology she imparts to MacKayla is also pretty intense; I don't think I've ever read such a thing before altho Diana Gabaldon maybe came close but was not so intensely first person. Wow. She never let Mac get away with any hiding from herself.

As I read this book, I strove to remember exactly why I previousy found Jerrico Barrons so sexy, He was never described in any way this edition that would make me think "hmm, sexy". Sexy was all in the mind, in Mac's memories of when she was Pri-ya, Sexy was not his repeated proving to her that he'd always be there to save her. Sexy was not finding out his secret, the reason he wanted the Book. Those were characteristics. But I think every reader has found him sexy - without the use of much physical description. That's some pretty amazing writing, folks.

I have let 24 hours go by after finishing this book - which, by the way, totally screwed up my sleeping habits as I stayed up continuously a couple nights to get thru it - and I still don't think I can truly describe this book. Or this world. I just know that I am very glad KMM will begin a new series in MacKayla' world because I've got way too much emotion invested in it to quit now. ...more

While his was my fav of the series, I still didn't love it. This book needed 100 pages cut. Also, giving Barrons a personality transplant didn't work for me. I'm not sorry I read it, but I'm glad I'm done. Barron's never did win me over, nor did their love story. I bought into the lust, but I didn't buy love. Barrons never showed an ounce of trust or respect toward Mac. I couldn't get past that. ...more

A satisfying conclusion to the series. A little slow in some sections; Part I was full of internal reflection and a little boring to me. Nonetheless, I did enjoy the book, especially all the red herrings. They were loads of fun and even though I knew it couldn’t be that obvious, I fell for them anyway.

I would recommend re-reading the other 4 books before reading Shadowfever. The story jumps right in where it left off, and I felt lost at times, but eventually I remembered the sub-plots.
