WOW WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!!! Can that be my whole review of this book??? This book was amazing! I didn't want it to end! It is the best I've read so far in the series. It just had it all!

At first I'll admit I was PISSED at Curran because I thought he stood up Kate for that naked dinner she owed him. Then she's called in to investigate the deaths of shifters. But things only get more complicated from there when this investigation brings Kate face to face with her own family.

All the rumors are true. Book three, Magic Strikes, is where this series really makes it into the big leagues. So where does that leave Magic Bleeds? It leaves it at a status of being even better!! That’s right Magic Bleeds was even better then the epicness of Magic Strikes.

So I really liked this one but this one did not top Magic Strikes, but it was close. Magic Strikes and Magic Bleeds= Best in the Series. In magic bleeds, so much is happening we finally get some more info about Kate's past and some family info also, Erra, is Kate's aunt and also Roland's older sister and I just loved the chapter where she comes to visit Kate at home and we have this conversation wit them and get to learn quite a few things, I really despise her aunt though, I wonder if we'll fin So I really liked this one but this one did not top Magic Strikes, but it was close. And next order of business, I loved Curran and Kate in this book, they are funny as ever. First we have the whole misunderstanding wit that whole dinner, and than the mating dance which was funny as hell, OMFG. I think I'm still laughing...okay...I'll give you a hint. it has something to do with curran + chair + kate = read and find out!!! (but it was so funny) Yup. I'm still laughing. I loved that. One of the best scenes in the book, so funny them messing wit each other. I loved the scene where Kate and Curran finally deal with this about the dinner and sort out all the misunderstandings and have such a wonderful moment together, I wanted MORE!!!! And also where Kate finally talks to Curran about who she really is. Them talking about their past's is something deep for being in a relationship. I loved that whole entire chapter and the next one. I just loved how the both talked to each other about their past's about what happened to Curran and why he wants her in the keep with him(feel so bad for him, he really needs and derserves happiness with Kate) and Kate explaining all of her fears to him and why she would be a horrible mate for him....god, I could just read that chapter over and over again.

I loved how kate was there for Curran like how Curran was there for kate in magic strikes. I thought...awwwwww....and I was so mad when I got to the last page b/c I want to read the next book Magic Slays which isn't even out yet! ugh....hurry the hell up, march! I did feel like we didn't get much of the other characters in the pack I like so much and also Julie, I wish we had more of Derek also, but I think this book was just mainly about Curran/Kate sorting out everything about their relationship and her confrontation with her family, but I do hope we get some more Julie and Derek in the next book. I really did enjoy this book. I have so many favorite scenes. A great read. ...more

I'm going to join the litany of reviewers out there and say that this book is made of awesomeness! The Kate Daniels series is one of my favorites and this addition to the series I would say is the best so far. Kate is such a great heroine - she is tough and true to her friends and beliefs - even if it goes against how her step-father, Voron, raised her. And man is Kate put to the test in this book on so many different levels - her relationship or lack thereof with Curran is called into question I'm going to join the litany of reviewers out there and say that this book is made of awesomeness! The Kate Daniels series is one of my favorites and this addition to the series I would say is the best so far. Kate is such a great heroine - she is tough and true to her friends and beliefs - even if it goes against how her step-father, Voron, raised her. And man is Kate put to the test in this book on so many different levels - her relationship or lack thereof with Curran is called into question as well as her position at the Order of the Knights of Merciful Aid. Kate also has to face the worse kind of enemy to her - family. After all her years of hiding and training, her family finally catches up to her and she has to face them or leave Atlanta. But by now we know Kate well enough to know she would never abandon her friends and she stays in Atlanta to fight her enemies and of course fight with Curran a little more too.

This book starts with quite the mystery - besides why Curran didn't show up to their special dinner date - Kate shows up on the scene of a bar fight that turns into a potential plague outbreak. No one knows how the bar fight loser became the next patient zero for a blooming plague of syphilis and Kate is hard pressed to contain it. As Kate delves deeper into the mystery of the plagues, she begins to be concerned that Atlanta and her and the Pack are targets of an ancient god. One of my favorite parts of this series is the mythology interwoven into the story and the mythology comes into play as Kate begins to research who or what could be at fault for the plagues. Along the way Kate picks up another potential family member and it was a shining moment of Kate's humor and snarkiness as she deals with her new family member.

My favorite part of this book though were the Curran filled parts. He's his usual pissy, uptight, controlling, alpha sexy self. Which pairs with explosive results with Kate's stubborn and abrasive attitude. These two could just as easily tear each other apart as make love to each other and I think that is what makes their relationship so compelling - can they compromise to make the relationship work? And really can Kate let someone into her life that will become such a big target for her father? As it says on Ilona Andrews website "This is the book where Kate and Curran decide". Enough said - I don't want to give anything away!

I liked the book, obviously since I read all the 4 in a few days of a marathon. And luck for me that 5th is coming out next month! ^O^
I liked that the relationship with Curran progressed slowly, that way we get a good plot that isn't all romance, we have a main guy that doesn't just jump her bones from the beginning (Ahhhpp*Anita Blake*chuu), and so in every book we have some romance. Great mix, just the right amounts of every thing.
Now I kind of hope that in some future book there would appear ...more
