I never expected to like this book.
I had read all sorts of reviews and most of them were fairly positive but to read a story about a heroine with a drug addiction problem (no pun intended) – I wasn’t sure if this book would be for me.
Unholy Ghosts is a dark, dirty, gritty, read. The world building is imaginative. Set in a world where ghosts need to be controlled by debunkers, drug lords roam freely, and magic exists, Unholy Ghosts is a compelling read.

Basically you either love it or hate it. I had started UNHOLY GHOSTS let's see....October and dropped it. All my GR friends love it. I am wanting to know why? because I obviously don't see the appeal. SO this kind of drove me crazy so I decided to finish it because I never made it to the end.
I will say that I am glad that I finished the book this time. But I cannot give this book a high rating because it took me more than halfway through this book to actually understand what the hell was going ...more

This was a completely different read for me! Yes, it's urban fantasy, yes there's ghosts and Chess is somewhat of a ghost hunter, but I was not expecting the storyline to be what it was. To say I was surprised would be an understatement. So I figured the easiest way for me to review this is in a What I liked and What I didn't format.

A drug addicted heroine, a possible future hero that is described as being extremely ugly, worms crawling out of people's arms, ghosts and witches, and the American government and society controlled by the non-religious Church---Freakin Awesome!!!

i gave it 2, but didnt finish so probably should be lower, i get restless and give up. it kept me going but there wasnt really anything enjoyable about it, i reckon some ppl would like it because of all the drug use, i didnt, was kinda interesting at the start but then thats all there really was, sorry to all who loved it.
